A is for AP-POH!!!

Here is something precious that our darling little Muffin (short for Lovemuffin--her nickname since she was a newborn, I just started calling her that and it stuck... Cupcake works too, b/c muffins and cupcakes are related) has been doing since she was 12 months old.

She loves APPLES! Since she was about 13 mos, she realized that apples are kept in the bottom drawer in the fridge, and whenever I opened the fridge, she would go and get an apple (ap-poh as she says it!) out of it. That's not all. She would take a bite--sometimes little mouse bites and sometimes big bites as big as her little mouth can bite, and chew it and then spit out the peel. Well about last month I studied her closely as she was eating her ap-poh. Perched upon the kitchen counter she was happily eating her apple. These are the pix of her in the little blue dress. Her strategy for eating the meat of the apple and spitting out the peel, is she will bite it, and then chew it carefully in the right side of her cheek and separate the meat from the peel with her teeth and then she will poke her little fingers into her mouth and take the peel out and throw it on the floor. Usually Cowboy (our silly four-year-old male pomeranian) will eat the peel pieces that she spits out. It is so cute and she does a good job of eating the apple in her special way.

The pix posted above show when she first really started this, when she was 12 months old and we were visiting our relatives in Minnesota. There are beautiful apple trees in my grandma's yard and she loved getting an apple off the tree, and would hold one in each little hand. She sat on a stump and ate it, but these are more tart, as you can see by her expression. But she kept eating it. Also there are pix until the present. Gosh she has grown and changed so much in the past 7 months! She is going on 20 months old now. We love her sooo much!

  2. Thank you for that! I do feel more confident already--getting started is always the hardest part, but now that I have it, I did it! Yes everyone says she looks so much like her dad--she really does--esp. when she was really tiny. Esp. now when she smiles--she has his smile, I think. But when she is serious she looks like me too. Btw I would love to follow your blog--but when I clicked on you, it wouldn't link....
